Susan and I were having difficulty getting Kylie to stop pulling whilst on the leash. At first I put this down to the fact that she is young and, as a Husky she is genetically designed to pull heavy loads. I thought she would settle down as time wore on and the methods I’d used to train my other dogs would work with Kylie.
However, it became increasingly clear that a different approach would be needed. Susan was having great difficulty controlling Kylie when out for a walk and strong as I am it’s not pleasant fighting a dog as you go for a walk.
As you know I stay in China and there aren’t too many English books on dog training here so I fired up my trusty computer and did a little delving on the Internet.
"Bewildering Array of Dog Training Guides…"
There are many websites offering products on dog training but after reading through several sales pages one seemed to offer better value than the rest so I decided to give Sit, Stay, Fetch by Daniel Stevens a try. After downloading the product and some rather nice bonuses, I’ll tell you about those in a moment, I eagerly opened the dog training manual and was greeted with a very comprehensive index list – there’s a huge amount of value in this book…
To quote:
SitStayFetch is a complete A-Z handbook for dog owners. Covering all aspects of dog ownership, from choosing a puppy to understanding your dog to problem-solving to complete obedience work, we’ve aimed to cover every facet of dog ownership in a simple, step-by-step format. When you take on the ownership of a dog, you’re accepting complete responsibility for that dog’s physical and emotional wellbeing. Your dog depends on you for absolutely everything he needs to survive.
"Not only is it a great training manual…"
... but it’s a complete guide to owning and caring for your dog. As I looked through the table of contents I saw how much great information there really was in this training manual. Sure enough all the training tips I was initially looking for were there but so was a whole host more..
... It’s not just the problem behaviors like pulling on the leash that are covered: the book starts off with new-owner advice (how to choose a puppy/dog, the best places to get one from, breed information, puppy/dog-proofing your home, the first vet visit, housetraining, etc)
... Then it moves on to the more advanced stuff:
Behavioral problems (such as aggression, dominance, chewing, digging, excessive barking, separation anxiety, to name a few), intermediate-level obedience commands, health-related dog problems (allergies, cat/dog coexistence, fleas, heatstroke, and so on), and advanced commands and tricks
Take a look for yourself, here’s a screenshot of the table of contents:
Part 1: General Ownership and Care .

Part 2: Understanding Your Dog and Behaviour Problems .

Part 3: Dog Whispering, Health and Advanced Training .

You should take a look at page 48 to see one of the training aids that some people use on their dogs… It’s horrific! You won’t believe people do that to their pets!
Of course, Daniel Stevens in Sit, Stay Fetch strongly abhors those barbaric practices and teaches much more friendly and effective methods of dog training.
"Particularly Good Parts…"
In addition to the contents listed above, there’s also a pretty impressive section on dog whispering, which – in case you haven’t heard of it already – is a method of dog training based on a philosophy of clear communication and mutual respect.
It’s been popularized in recent years by Cesar Millan (“The Dog Whispererâ€), and is becoming increasingly well-known as an alternative and humane method for disciplining and training your dog. SitStayFetch has dedicated an entire section to dog whispering: Daniel Stevens explains the background of the technique, how to utilize voice and body language to your best advantage , and how to use the technique to calmly, assertively, and effectively correct and train your dog. Step-by-set instructions are included for the common commands (sit, down, come, stay, quiet, etc).
"Love the Case Studies…"
I really like the use of case studies to reinforce the lessons outlined in the book. These actively demonstrate common problems that owners have had with their dogs – problems you may be experiencing right now – and explain the steps that the owners took to remedy them . I was particularly interested in the case study on pulling on the leash – see pages 132 & 137 – because that was the biggest problem Susan and I were experiencing right now.
After only two times of putting the guidelines into practice there is a marked improvement in Kylie’s behaviour – I’m so impressed!
I could go on but this is such a comprehensive manual – over 272 pages of solid useful information – that it would take me ages to write about it all. If you’ve any questions about owning, caring and training your dog you owe it her to get yourself a copy . And let me tell you there’s a 56 day money back guarantee so you can try the training tips out and experience the results firsthand .

"I’m Pretty Impressed With This Package"
I’ve owned dogs on and off my whole life, starting from when I was ten – I would have thought that I was better-prepared than most to handle the quirks and caprices of my canine friends.
But since reading this book, I think my pre-SitStayFetch self was (embarrassingly) perhaps a trifle more complacent than knowledgeable – I’ve learned more since reading this manual than I’ve picked up in a near-lifetime’s worth of contact with dogs (do you know how to stop your dog from tugging on the leash, without using a check-chain? Well, I do – but until I got my hands on a copy of this book, I certainly didn’t!)
Several of the training techniques present a refreshingly common-sense , down-to-earth approach to dog training; others require a little more effort (take dog whispering as an example) but yield some pretty dramatic results .
I liked the way that more than one training technique is detailed , to allow the reader to pick and choose the techniques that best suit themselves and their individual dogs.
I have no qualms in recommending this package to anyone who owns, or is thinking about owning, a dog. You don’t need to have a “problem pet†for the manual to be of assistance: there’s information included that’ll be useful to any and all dog owners
In short: I highly recommend this training manual , click the image below and you can solve your dog training problems in no time at all.
